Danish shipping company Maersk has announced the launch of the TA5 service, connecting the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, and Belgium with the East Coast of the United States.
The port rotation for the transatlantic route will be London Gateway (UK) – Hamburg (Germany) – Rotterdam (Netherlands) – Antwerp (Belgium) – Philadelphia (USA).
This service will commence on February 19, coinciding with the establishment of the new Maersk/Hapag-Lloyd alliance, but it will not be part of the Gemini cooperation network.
Additionally, Maersk noted that the Norfolk route will be added to the TA3 service rotation, while the Philadelphia route will be removed. With this change, the service rotation will be as follows:
Southampton (UK) – Rotterdam (Netherlands) – Hamburg (Germany) – Wilhelmshaven (Germany) – Newark (USA) – Norfolk (USA) – Baltimore (USA) – St. John (USA).
