Australia: Announcement on the impending expiration of anti-dumping measures on wire rods from China.

On February 21, 2025, the Australian Anti-Dumping Commission issued Notice No. 2025/003, stating that the anti-dumping measures on wire rods (Rod in Coil) imported from China will expire on April 22, 2026. Interested parties should submit applications for a sunset review investigation by April 22, 2025. If no applications are received by the aforementioned deadline, the anti-dumping measures on the products involved from China will terminate after the expiration date.

On August 12, 2015, Australia initiated an anti-dumping investigation on wire rods imported from China. On April 22, 2016, Australia made a positive final ruling in the case, determining that the anti-dumping duties for the Chinese companies involved ranged from 37.4% to 53.1%.

On July 27, 2020, the Australian Anti-Dumping Commission released Notice No. 2020/077, stating that, upon the request from Australian company InfraBuild (Newcastle) Pty Ltd, a first sunset review investigation was initiated for wire rods imported from China. On April 12, 2021, the Australian Anti-Dumping Commission released Notice No. 2021/032, making a positive final ruling in the case and deciding to continue the anti-dumping measures on the products involved from China starting April 23, 2021, with the anti-dumping duties assessed using a combination of fixed and variable rates, resulting in a dumping margin of 33.1% for all Chinese exporters. Hot-rolled rebar and stainless steel coils are not subject to the anti-dumping measures in this case. The Australian customs codes for the products involved are 7213.91.00.44 and 7227.90.90.02.
